 Factoids from the 1964-65 Course Catalog

• enrollment on Lawrence campus ~ 12,300
• tuition for a full load - $122 a semester, apparently no in-state/out-of-state distinction (tuition for my kids 15 years ago was well north of $122 a credit hour)
• enrollment was a 4 day ordeal at Old Hoch
• classes began Sept 21 (first football game was Sept 19); not much air-conditioning in those days
• Christmas break was Dec 19-Jan 5
• classes resumed Jan 6
• 1st semester finals began Jan 25
• little-known fact - the volume of hair spray coeds used to maintain the hair styles of the day provided the first measurable contribution of greenhouse gases to global warming
